MANASQUAN, NEW JERSEY – August 23, 2022 – SMG Facilities will be heading South to participate in RFMA Gives 2023 on Saturday, September 24th in San Marcos, Texas.
RFMA Gives is an annual philanthropic program conducted by the Restaurant Facility Management Association (RFMA). Since 2011, each year RFMA selects a charitable shelter or kitchen that’s in need of repairs or remodeling. The association pools the talents and resources of RFMA members and share them with the chosen non-profit food service organization to make a significant difference in their ability to serve the community.
RFMA Gives 2023 recipient is the Southside Community Center (SSCC) of San Marcos, Texas After visiting several wonderful organizations in the San Antonio area, SSCC was chosen because of its great fit and the large impact RFMA’s members will be able to make. The Southside Community Center (SSCC) is a non-profit organization that is a proud affiliate of the United Methodist Church. They are committed to improving the living conditions and personal dignity of those in need in San Marcos and Hays County, Texas.
The SSCC provides programs that include:
- Transitional Shelter and food
- Emergency assistance
- Housing for low-income and elderly
- Neighborhood housing improvement
- Cooperation with other community organizations
